It's only the beginning

Here's a poem I wrote last week:

It's only the beginning...

In time, rainbows and butterflies will come.

But first, you must learn how to weather life's storms

as you continue in your recovery.

In time, broken relationships and trust

will be restored.

You will experience the results of healing:

physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

You must come out of your cocoon,

so you can grow and change.

In time, you will spread your wings like a butterfly and

experience a freedom that you have never had

before you came into recovery and

asked Jesus Christ to be the Lord of your life.

It's only the beginning, but

in the end, the storms, the changes, and growth are

all worth it just to see those

rainbows and butterflies.
