Pimp My Profile

Over ten years ago, I was introduced to Myspace in which many people used “Pimp My Profile” in order to spice up their page with unique wallpaper and a background song. Fast forward to 2017 and I am doing the same thing, except I no longer have a Myspace account (deleted it after finding more people on Facebook). I am pimping my profile on dating websites. Long before I had turned forty, I had hoped that I would never have to resort to desperate measures to find a suitable date. Well, here I am: Pimping away one of my dating profiles hoping to reel in more fish (I mean, single men) to notice my profile. However, I want them to not only view my pimped up profile, I want them to acknowledge my existence by striking up a conversation with me.

In the three weeks I’ve done online dating (my fourth try in thirteen years), so far I have had conversations with two different men. One of them became a Facebook friend and I think that’s as far as it will go. The other one, I had not heard back from him after I told him a bit about my writing projects (Hey, he asked). I even posted a few more pictures of myself (sorry no full body shots of me in a revealing outfit). Oh, well. Probably not meant to be. I want to experience success in the area of dating and eventually get married while I can still bear children. So, I decided to change up my dating profile a bit. Not lie, but emphasize on my good points and keep hidden a few important things about myself (mainly my strong belief to save sex for marriage). By making a few profile changes, I will see if I get more attention and hopefully from good men. I even added a few more selfies in which I look my best for the camera.

Stay tuned for more…
