30 reasons why I love being single

Since this month is Thanksgiving, I always love to make a list of 30 things I am thankful for. This time I want to do something different and make a list of 30 things to be thankful for as a single person. That does not mean I want to remain single for my entire life. It's important to be content and grateful during any season in life. So many single people spend a lot of time trying to find someone to make them feel complete and they often end up feeling unsatisfied. Although God created us to want to have relationships (not just romantic, marital), He created us to love Him but only out of our own free wills. So here is my list of thanksgiving as a single person. 1. No matter what my relationship status is, I am always in a relationship with God! 2. I have lots of freedom to do the things I want to do and not have to worry about answering to anyone.

3. I can hog the covers and stretch out on my bed without anyone trying to fight me. 4. My room does not have to be spotlessly clean at all times. 5. I don't have to worry about thinking what to get him for Christmas because I haven't met him (my future man) yet. 6. I have been able to have a full social life because I have more time to meet many new people. 7. I don't have to shave my legs every single day if I don't want to. 8. I don't have to hear "What's wrong, babe?" whenever I'm not in a talkative mood. 9. I don't have to give anyone an answer when I don't feel like talking. 10. The toilet seat is always down unless my brother is visiting. 11. I don't have to give a detailed account of where I've been all day and what I've been doing all day. Refer to #2. 12. I have more time for bible studies and fellowship with God. However, it's a matter of using my free time wisely. 13. I don't have to check in with anyone about my plans unless Mom and I have already made previous plans. I live with her. 14. I don't have to deal with typical relationship drama which can be stressful. 15. I can freely talk to any male without having to worry about someone getting jealous. 16. I can watch Channing Tatum movies without having to deal with a jealous man. For crying out loud, he's a married celebrity so it's not at all likely that he'll be mine. 17. There is no sports on my TV or Spike Channel. 18. I can mow the lawn in an awesome riding lawn mower. If I wasn't single, I probably wouldn't have had that opportunity. 19. I can cuddle up with my dog without having to deal with male jealousy and competition. However, any other dog that's around does get jealous. 20. If I want to go do something, I don't have to wait around to see if he wants to or not. 21. I can wear the color red. 22. I have a lot of time to be with my Mom. 23. I can accomplish some goals in a more timely manner. 24. I do only my own laundry and don't have to deal with washing anyone else's underwear. 25. I can decorate my room and my bathroom any way I want. When I lived alone, I got to decorate my entire place the way I wanted. 26. I have been able to save more money. 27. I have been able to tithe more to my church and donate more money. 28. I have more time to prepare myself for my future husband. 29. I wear my hair any way I like. 30. I am happy as I am today.
